about TK Design
TK Design is the full service design agency of Thomas Kane — a web and graphic designer based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Where did you go to school?
I earned a BA in Computer Science from Kings College, Wilkes-Barre and an Associates Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Philadelphia.
How long have you been working as a designer?
I've been working in the design field since 1994, beginning as a design student at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Since that time I've had the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects, from web sites to brochures, logos to advertising, trade show booths to children's books and more.
My love of design work led me to start TK Design in September of 2004, putting my professional experience and passion for design to work for my clients. One of the advantages in working with TK Design is the personal nature of the creative relationship.
What's with the parrot?
No, it has nothing to do with Jimmy Buffet. (Though I do have a lot of his albums.) I chose the parrot logo for two main reasons:
First, it's memorable. A parrot's bright colors make it stand out from the rest of the jungle — which is a perfect analogy for what a designer does - helping clients create a distinctive message that stands out.
Secondly, the parrot looks really, really cool.
